01What Ruta is
Ruta is a technology and dispatch platform, not a transport carrier. Rides are provided by independent, licensed taxi companies and their drivers.
Ruta does not carry passengers, does not own vehicles, does not employ drivers and does not set the fare — the fare is the regulated taxi meter tariff, and it is paid directly to the driver.
This is not marketing language. It is the legal position the whole service is built around: the company you ride with is responsible for the ride, the vehicle and the driver. Ruta is responsible for the app, the dispatch platform, and the data described in our privacy policy.
02How a ride happens
Set your pickup and your destination. You see an estimate of the fare before you book anything.
Licensed taxi companies dispatching nearby pick it up. You get the driver's name, the vehicle and its plate before it arrives.
Live on the map. Message the driver in the app if you need to — neither of you ever sees the other's phone number.
The regulated tariff on the meter, paid to the driver at the end of the ride. Then rate it, so the next passenger knows.
03Three ways in
Passengers
Sign in with your phone number — no name, no email, no card on file. Set pickup and destination, get an estimate, follow the car on the map, and pay the meter in cash. Your number is never shown to the driver.
Drivers
Drivers are employed or contracted by the licensed taxi company they work for, not by Ruta. The driver app shows the work available nearby, hands navigation over to the maps app already on the phone, and keeps the trip record straight.
Taxi companies
Companies keep their own drivers, vehicles and licences, and run their own dispatch from a web portal — live map, trip history, ratings, invoices. Each company sees only its own rides, and that separation is enforced in the database, not just in the interface.
04Safety
112 is the emergency number in Bosnia & Herzegovina, and the app keeps it one tap away on the live-ride screen — not buried in a settings menu. If you are in immediate danger, call it first and tell us afterwards.
